FAQ about ceremonies before you book

Many couples and clients have questions about ceremonies before booking. Below are questions to ask your celebrant before booking.

Are celebrant ceremonies legally binding?

Celebrant-led weddings are non-legally binding ceremonies. They are officiated separately from the legal signing of the register. Therefore, if you wish to be officially married, you must have a civil or partnership ceremony at the municipality to make the wedding legal.

Can you perform a bilingual wedding (English/Dutch)?

Yes!  As a native English-speaking celebrant, fluent in Dutch, I work together with you to craft a memorable bilingual wedding.

What is your celebrant delivery style?

My celebrant style is fun, relaxed, and informal, with an inclusive vibe while remaining serious when necessary. It’s a celebratory wedding where everyone feels free to express themselves. I officiate 12 to 20 weddings each year.

Are you available to marry us?

This is the number one FAQ about ceremonies: Can you marry us, and are you available? I always refer potential clients and couples to check my agenda. Otherwise, contact me to discuss availability and options.

What does your celebrant’s fee include?

My celebrant wedding services include an initial consultation and 2 to 3 follow-up meetings, depending on the ceremony’s length and type. Additional celebrant costs apply for travel expenses, live music, and rehearsal attendance.

Do you have experience with our venue type (castle, boat, destination wedding)?

As a bilingual wedding celebrant, I have had the honor of performing ceremonies for many couples at various beautiful locations across the Netherlands, Belgium, and beyond. Feel free to send me a message or give me a call to find out if I have conducted a ceremony at your chosen venue.
