About me – Black Wedding Officiant Amsterdam – London, Certified Celebrant Abroad. native EN speaks NL.

About me

I’m Clover Jean (yes, that’s my real name), a certified bilingual wedding officiant/celebrant based in Amsterdam with decades of performing and singing experience. I’ve delivered over 500 informal, non-traditional and symbolic ceremonies, plus live music shows. And I’ve supported many international, interracial and interfaith couples. Weddings are my passion. No two love stories are the same; each couple is unique!

What’s my nationality?

I’m British-Afro-Caribbean and the daughter of West Indian and interfaith parents. Sadly, my Jamaican mum (Baptist) and St. Lucian dad (Atheist) have passed away. I’m an auntie with nieces and a nephew.

What’s my background?

I was born in Shepherd’s Bush, London (1968), and moved to Amsterdam in the late 80’s. It inspired me to become a choir singer, travel and tour guide, and master of ceremonies I created a one-woman show. In 2008 I became a certified celebrant.

What do others say about me?

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, with an optimistic and holistic approach to life. People say my signature warmth, humour and high-energy delivery as a celebrant brings a spark to their event.  I’m a social butterfly and solitary bee. I enjoy swimming, BBC 4, the great outdoors (nature, including my garden), apple pie, and chilling on my sofa.

Who are my ideal clients?

Non-tradional couples with amazing connection who want a story-led alternative ceremony or a bilingual wedding officiant.

When did I start?

In 2008, a non-religious couple from Texel said ‘Will you be our ceremony speaker? ‘Of course!’ (I’d never done it before.) So, I put on a toga, wig and the Black Marriage Officiant and Celebrant Abroad service was born. Need my support? I’m curious! Contact me today!
